The working principle of the multi-effect water distiller is to obtain high-purity water for injection by passing the fully preheated purified water through multi-stage evaporation and condensation to exclude non-condensable gases and impurities. Multi-effect water distiller belongs to the tower water distiller in energy saving and environmental protection upgrade products, compared with the tower water distiller, the multi-effect water distiller temperature is higher, conducive to the inhibition of microbial reproduction of water for injection, the equipment occupies a small area, maintenance is relatively simple, has become the main production equipment of water for injection in the pharmaceutical industry.![]() Multi-effect water distillers are usually composed of multiple evaporative heat exchangers, separation devices, preheaters, two condensers, valves, instrumentation and control parts. Since in this segmented evaporation and condensation process, only the first effect evaporator needs external heat source heating, and the pure steam generated by the last effect and the condensation of the water for injection produced by each effect are cooled by an external medium, so the effect on energy saving is very obvious. In the multi-effect water distiller, the purified steam produced by each evaporator is pure steam used to heat the raw water, and the pure steam is condensed into injection water by phase change after heating and evaporating the raw water. The conventional multi-effect distillation machine has 3-8 effects, each effect includes an evaporator, a separation device and a preheater, the more effects, the better the energy-saving effect. In the case of a certain production of water for injection, in order to reduce the consumption of steam and cooling water, it is necessary to increase the effect, but this will increase the investment cost, for this consideration, to choose the appropriate effect, which requires the pharmaceutical manufacturer purchaser and the manufacturer to jointly determine. To prevent cross-contamination of the system, the first evaporator, all preheaters and condensers of the multi-effect water distiller are designed with double-ended plates and tubes. The inner tube sheet and the outer tube sheet adopt the most advanced double expansion joint technology in the world, and the double expansion connection technology belongs to the physical processing method, which connects and fixes the tube and the tube sheet through the expander, and the processing accuracy requires high and can be used for clean equipment or systems with working pressure not exceeding 10bar.
Because the welding process is avoided, the double expansion joint method can well eliminate the chemical crystalline corrosion caused by the welding of the heat exchanger, so that the risk of leakage of the heat exchanger is extremely low, and the service life of the multi-effect water distiller is greatly extended. |
